All-Star Game

Four years ago, John and I decided to do a baseball season replay using the APBA simulation game.  We settled on the 1979 National League.  As for me, I like the balance of power, pitching and speed the 70's era provides.  I have fond memories of the colorful players from that time.

We use the APBA basic game with a few modifications.  We are sticking to the actual schedule and are enacting the transactions as they actually occurred.  To facilitate the replay, John has taken the NL West and I have taken the NL East.  Inter-division play is done face-to-face and intra-division play is done solo though we tend to help each other out when we're in the mood for some face-to-face APBA.

The replay has been quite fun to say the least.  We both have assumed our favorite players through the season.  For me the NL has been an incredible race with all teams within 6 games of first place.  The NL West is a little more spread out but has powerhouse teams like LA and Cincinnati vying for a playoff bid.

We have surpassed the halfway point now with most teams having played 95+ games.  Read our latest summaries to see what's been happening.  We just played our All-Star game which was a blast.  Read about it here.
