Podcast Review: Vintage Base Ball This Week
I got an email today from Jim Knoblauch, co-captain of the Vermilion Voles. Jim passed on some info on a new podcast called Vintage Base Ball This Week devoted to promoting the interest in early game of base ball.
No doubt, VBTW will have a very niche market. That said, sometimes those types of Internet resources do quite well because they have a dedicated core audience.
I listened to the second episode of VBTW with host Jason “Gypsy” Kladiva on my way home from work today. Kladiva is currently co-captain of the Iron Diamonds Base Ball club of Porter, Indiana. He certainly has the right voice for a vintage base ball show. It ain’t smooth and silky nor should it be.
Only through two shows, VBTW is feeling its way around and establishing boundaries and parameters. Kladiva made a point during his second show that he planned to stay away from the politics of vintage base ball and focus on the more positive aspects (Before you snicker, yes, there IS unfortunately politics in vintage base ball).
He will be talking about what’s happening on the vintage base ball scene and perhaps discussing whatever issues that face players and leagues.
As a fan of vintage base ball, I’ll be downloading Vintage Base Ball This Week to my iPod and listening in occasionally.
You can listen to Vintage Base Ball This Week at their web site or you can download the show from iTunes.
