5/15/06 Linescore of the Day: Mike Jacobs

3 for 4, 2 2B, HR, run, 6 rbis

Put this in the “What does a guy have to do?” category.  Despite Mike Jacobs 6 rbis, the Marlins lost to the Braves 11-8.  This was due mostly to Andruw Jones who had a pretty good night himself going 4 for 4 with 4 rbis.

The Marlins relief staff didn’t help either.  They gave up 9 runs in two innings.  The blown save was charged to Champaign native Matt Herges.  It’s good to see Matt still pitching in the bigs but he better get some quality innings in or he may not last too long.
