What a difference a day makes! Or make that a night, Elvis Night to be precise! Elvis was in the building in the person of Jose Contreras, and the King was dealing. In the biggest series of the year Contreras set the tone with a three hit shutout in the opener besting rookie Justin Verlander 5-0. Jose had it going on from the get-go throwing only 101 pitches over nine innings. He totally dominated turning the Tigers into Kitty Cats. An Elvis sang the Star Spangled Banner, flying Elvi dropped in with the American flag, and fireworks went off to Elvis songs after the game. It was a pleasure to watch this 2 hour 13 minute game. I was supposed to have been camping in Amherst, WI at the Feel Good Festival, but Oma broke her hip. Get Well wishes go out to 94 year old Oma recovering at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago.
