The NY Mets pounded the Arizona Diamondbacks 18-4 and Mike Jacobs was a big part of New York’s attack. Mike is off to a great start in the Bigs, 7 for 13 in his first four games, with 4 homers & a double, 9 RBIs & 8 runs, his batting average is .538 & his slugging percentage is 1.538. 1. delgado for jacobs and 41 million dollars.this was beyond stupid. i have watched mike jacobs since feb 03 in port st. lucie. he hit a 425ft. homer and singled to left. i was impressed with his swing and composure. a very rare ballplayer. he was given no opportunity here. his manager was about to send him back to double a baseball after one at bat.he saw two pithes and hit a three run homer. now he’s gone for a 34 year old first baseman who can’t field. mr jacobs will shine in 06.he will be a rookie of the year candidate for sure. we lose.

  4. I just heard Omar Minaya’s comment that Kazuo Matsui will start at second base in 06. I saw him play shortstop in florida in Feb 03. Two easy ground balls, two errors. The move to second showed no improvement. When you look at the right side of the field, it will be a show a lack of defence. Between Mr Delgado, Mr Matsui and Mr Diaz the mets will lead the league in errors. They can’t afford to sign a second baseman because of the 41 million they just blew on Mr delgado. I just don’t get it.

  5. Aaron Heilman – Wants to be in the starting rotation. He should have started all of last year. Willie chose Kaz Ishii and look what happened. Nothing but a bunch of losses.

Now Heilman will probably be traded for his complaint. This team will not perform while Omar and Willie are in charge. Nothing but incompetence and waste!!!

  8. Now they trade Jae Seo, and for what? Yhis kid was 8-2 with a one hitter in limited appearances. Nobody here can judge talent. The mets will be very short in starting pitching and Mike Jacobs will be rookie of the year. This team will not win 90 games. What a shame!!!
