Brad Radke, Minnesota Twins
9 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 8 K

This is typical Bradke on a good day. Low walk total is his trademark. With him and Carlos Silva (not to mention Santana) on the Twins I played a hunch and looked up walks given up by team.

Guess who’s given up the least so far this year?

That’s right.. Minnesota.

They’ve given up only 41 walks in 28 games. The Red Sox are second with 72. That’s quite a difference.

Without looking it up, anybody care to guess which team has the most?

No, it’s not the Cubs. They’re second with 125.

5/3 Linescore of the Day

Carlos Delgado, Florida Marlins 3 for 4, 2 2B, HR, 3 runs, 4 rbi Delgado has got to be one of the most underrated players in the MLB. Year in, year out, he puts up good numbers. He hits for power, average and isn’t afraid to take a walk.

4/30 Linescore of the Day

Eli Marrero, Kansas City Royals 3 for 4, 2 HR, 3 runs, 3 rbis The A’s Kotsay went 5 for 6 but I gotta go with Marerro’s 6 runs produced and 2 homeruns in KC’s win over Cleveland.

Roy Halladay, Toronto Blue Jays 9 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 9 K, 0 HR (Win) Pitching in the bowels of Yankee stadium, Roy, facing fellow Cy Young winner Randy Johnson, pitched a 3-hit gem and even allowed only 1 walk.

4/28 Linescore of the Day

Justin Morneau, Minnesota Twins 4 for 5, run, 2 rbis Not too many games on the docket for Thursday but Justin is deserving with 4 hits. This is Justin’s second time as LSOTD. Don’t look now but he’s hitting .394.

4/27/05 Linescore of the Day

Derrek Lee, Chicago Cubs
4 for 4, 2 HR, 2 runs, 6 rbis

Corey Patterson got the accolades but the Cubs wouldn’t have been in the game without Lee’s 6 rbis on Wednesday.

Special Mention: Mark Grudzielanek, St. Louis Cardinals
4 for 5, 2B, 3B, HR, 3 runs, 2 rbis

I can’t let Mark’s cycle go unnoticed. This is the second cycle this season in the MLB.

4/26 Linescore of the Day

Alex Rodrguez, New York Yankees 4 for 5, 3 HR, 3 runs, 10 rbis A no-brainer today. Not too many players get doubles digits in rbis in one game. Here are the other ones who have: American League 11, Tony Lazzeri, New York, May 24, 1936. 10, Rudy York, Boston, July 27, 1946. 10, Norm … Continue reading “4/26 Linescore of the Day”
