Rumors of his Demise Indeed Exaggerated

Jamie Moyer became the first AL pitcher to win 4 games today as Seattle defeated Cleveland 9-1 today. Moyer alloed one run in 8 IP and is now 4-0.

In doing so, he tied Randy Johnson for the franchise record for victories with 130 and is tied for second with Mark Langston for strikeouts with 1,078. Randy Johnson is first with 2,162.

So far, 42-year old Moyer has made quite a comeback after a sub-par year last year. He has a 2.53 ERA and has allowed only 7 walks in 32 IP.

Some wondered if he was at the end of his line when in 2004 he went 7-13 with a 5.21 ERA.
