Kris & Anna Benson
Kris Benson will have surgery to repair a partially torn rotator cuff and will miss the entire 2007 season. The 32 year old Orioles right hander from Superior, Wisconsin missed the entire 2001 season following Tommy John surgery to repair a torn ligament in his elbow. Baltimore immediately signed Steve Trachsel to replace Benson in the rotation.

Chuck Finley was the pitcher who was married to Tawny Kitaen (the girl from the White Snake video).

As a sidebar, As Finley took the mound for an April 2002 game against the Chicago White Sox at then-Comiskey Park II, the stadium’s musical director, Joe Stephen, took a subtle dig at Finley’s messy divorce, and played “Here I Go Again” by the band Whitesnake, referencing Kitaen’s appearance in that band’s videos. Stephen was later fired and the White Sox apologized.
